“Word Seeds” by Meia Geddes
After Taj Madison
The moments land like water
and every morning page
wants to fly away.
If you plant a word on a page,
does it begin to draw
a bit of light?
I’d sow word seeds
in the hopes of some sun.
They’d line up in a field,
turning day-by-day, winking stars,
whispering something of life
a little ways away.
Artist Statement
My work is often utopic, envisioning the beautiful possibilities of what could be. I hope that any utopic visions and projects of love I share with the world have an impact on other readers, writers, and artists in terms of the possibilities they can see in theory on the page and in reality, creating never-ending circles of literary and artistic utopia at the very least.
