“Aligning Accuracy” by R. Gerry Fabian

Erase

errors with care.

Mistakes may be replaced

only so often, then the spot

wears through.

Artist Statement

This poem is a cinquain. This form was created by the American author, Adelaide Crapssey. Following the style, it begins with the main idea in two syllables and uses four, six and eight syllables to flesh out the idea.  The final two syllables provide a twist. It is a metaphor for how in life we can often make mistakes worse by trying too hard to fix them.

R. Gerry Fabian is a published writer and poet from Doylestown, PA. He has published five books of poetry: Parallels,  Coming Out Of The Atlantic, Electronic Forecasts,  Wildflower Women, and Pilfered Circadian Rhythm, as well as his poetry baseball book, Ball On The Mound.
