Looking to grow and fine-tune your literary flash work – your artistry with gravitas? The heart of this workshop moves beyond good intentions into creating new work (fiction, nonfiction, poetry) into flash, or what’s been called “the people’s genre.” Push beyond the limits of what you think you can do into smashing realms you’ve seen in your dreams! Participants will receive a workbook loaded with fiction, nonfiction, poetry, prompts, revision guidelines, and things you always wanted to know – how to review a book; how to pitch a review, interview, or article; where to pitch; and how to celebrate.

 Birch Bark Editing’s Cat Parnell is offering this asynchronous workshop. The prompt-rich session will include information about compressed and fluid writing, revision, and literary journal submissions, as well as a session on pitching and writing book reviews and articles. We’ll discuss short prose and poems and combine our curiosity with creativity. The workshop includes two optional Zoom sessions, one an open-ended Q & A, and the other will feature participant readings followed by feedback and applause from a dedicated cohort. Jump into a charged-up spirit in a supportive setting and make solid progress on your work !
